SKELETONS - A Process Show

I'm very excited to say that I've been working on a one-of-a-kind self promotional book called Skeletons ; A Process Show! My goal for this piece is to showcase a select few works and their illustrative processes in a fun yet elegant manner. I've been completely fascinated with the notion of transparency so I've been working with translucent vellum in this process book. The transparent pages are used to display my initial line work (or the skeletons) and then heavy card stock paper is paired with the skeletons to give a glimpse of the next step to come; colour. I'm hoping this cohesion of transparent and card-stock pages will help give the book an interesting body that reflects the process of my illustrations! I also plan to bring the transparent aspect to the cover of the book by using plexiglass and a card-stock cover page that shows through. So far, it has defiantly been a fun project and I've really been learning quite a lot about the art of bookbinding and the presentation of process works.
If you are interested in seeing the completed book, this project will be displayed at the Phillip J. Steele Gallery alongside my main showcase on April 10th. I would be more than happy if you dropped by!

To the right is a small teaser; the cover image to Skeletons, and bellow, a quick illustrated diagram of my layout ideas for the promotional process book.
